WHAT CAN A GOOD QS DO FOR YOU? - The Quantity Surveyor, or QS as they are known, is a key driver of project success in the building industry. Projects are by nature one-off activities involving large amounts of money spent over a short period to deliver unique products. This gives rise to a substantial cost risk for all parties which must be monitored and managed to ensure the project is delivered smoothly and that risk is shared equitably between the parties. This is where the QS comes in, ensuring the right amount is paid at the right time and that changes and claims are fairly administered.

WHO ARE WE? Founded by David Lee in the sixties as a civil construction company. North East Earthmovers & Builders Pty Ltd was incorporated in 1979 and delivered RAAF bases, McDonalds restaurants, Olympic swimming pool complexes and local government infrastructure, banks and mining camps throughout South Australia and Victoria.
In the 1980's David moved to Sydney and embarked on a 20 year career in prestige renovations throughout the northern and eastern suburbs.
In the late 1990's Thomas Lee joined the business as a labourer and then carpenter before moving onto a larger firm where he completed a project management cadetship with Grindley Constructions.
In 2011, Thomas rejoined the business after working for UPA Amako Constructions in Vancouver and then Laing O'Rourke on the Heathrow Terminal 3 / Terminal 5 works in London and Systech International in Dubai on notable projects such as the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa.
Since 2011, NBUILD has carried on a dual role of commercial consulting and expert witness services to some of Australia largest infrastructure projects and construction and development of residential projects throughout Sydney's Northern Beaches and the Gold Coast.
